Transportation
Omsk is a big transport hub—a key communication link for both Siberia and Russia nationwide. It is located at the junction of two major traffic arteries—Trans-Siberian railway and Irtysh river.

City public passenger transport includes:
- 773 high-capacity buses, where 754 buses belong to municipal transport enterprises and 19 buses are private-owned;
- more than 1,000 medium-capacity buses and 2,800 minibuses;
- 167 electric trolleys;
- 90 trams.

Public transport in the city
Besides, Omsk is a junction point of some interstate roads:
- R-254 Irtysh: Chelyabinsk—Kurgan—Omsk—Novosibirsk (former road M51);
- R-402: Tymen—Omsk;
- M38: Omsk—Cherlak—Kazakhstan border.
