Being one of the most important city economy sectors, Omsk consumer market is developing rapidly, giving lots of jobs and providing significant money flow. Consumer market situation determines the standard and the quality of urban living.

Omsk retail turnover in 2014 was 268.7 billion rubles.
City has all major types of retailers: fairs, small shops, supermarkets, mixed-use hypermarkets etc. Food and other non-manufacturing services are granted.
Well-developed retailers network makes trading in Omsk highly competitive.
There’s about 250 malls in Omsk with a total area of 600,000 sq m.

Omskiy is the oldest of city shopping malls
Nowadays Omsk is home to a number of big retail chains, among which are:
- Metro Cаsh & Carry, IKEA, Auchan, Media Markt, Leroy Merlin, OBI etc. (international chains);
- Lenta, Planeta Holiday, Sibiriada, Holdy Discounter, Magnit, Okay etc. (trans-regional chains);
- Pobeda, Eda!, Nash Magazin, PetroL, Domashniy, Nizkotsen, Produkty 24 Chasa, NovaTor, Omich i K etc. (regional chains).
Mixed-use retailers, such as AT-Market, Gertsen Plaza, Triumph, Mayak, Continent, Flagman, are progressing too.
Current shopping center floor space per 1,000 population is 1,052.9 sq m, which is 1.7 times higher than Omsk statutory minimum (619.99 sq m).
Food Service
Cafe is the most popular type of food service in Omsk. Fast food restaurants recently began quickstepping to new peaks: among them are KFC, Subway, Burger King, McDonalds, Kurochka Ryadom etc.

Concept-based restaurants usually present ethnic cuisine: Chinese (Yin Yang, Dragon), Italian (Mamma Mia), Russian (Emelya), Oriental (Caravan-Sarai, Chaikhana) etc. Besides, Japanese cuisine is on the march: there’s more and more restaurants and take away shops appearing—they offer sushi and rolls (Sushi Terra, Planeta Sushi, Zebry, Foodzy etc.).
Current sitting capacity per 1,000 population is 34 seats.
Food service turnover in 2014 was 11.2 billion rubles (105.3% to 2013 in comparable prices).
Non-Manufacturing Business
In Omsk there’s more than 3,500 companies of service industry. However, not all types of services are progressing on an even basis. Majors are hair design salons and car repair shops, minors are dry-cleaners and laundries.

Recent years city people attach great importance to house building and home renovation: more than 300 companies in this market serve to prove the foregoing. Also more than 260 companies produce and repair furniture.
More than 500 companies produce and repair furs and leather, hats, knitwear and shoes.
Local hotels show solid growth. Hospitality industry gives clients accommodation, meals and organized leisure activities. In Omsk there are about 80 hotels providing more than 2,500 beds totally.
Last year more than 170 new companies were organized in Omsk—mainly in most popular services sectors:
- 44 hair design salons;
- 38 car repair shops;
- 22 house building and home renovation enterprises.
Paid services capacity in 2014 was 70.2 billion rubles.
