International, Foreign Economic and Municipal Cooperation
Omsk cooperates extensively with the international community fulfilling foreign trade operations with partners from more than 77 countries of the world.
Major trading partners are: the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, France, Japan, Finland.
Foreign trade turnover of Omsk Region over the year 2000 amounted to 7,444.9 mln USD whereas 6,968.7 mln USD accounted for export and 476.3 mln USD accounted for import.

Omsk enterprises export mainly the products of fuel and energy and petrochemical complex.
Almost 40% of import is accounted for machinery, equipment and transport facilities. These supplies allow to build up high-tech plants manufacturing competitive and modern products. These plants have good prospects both on Russian and international markets.
About 20% of import is accounted for the supply of fruits and vegetables. The region also imports the products of chemical industry, coal, metals and metal products.
The volume of foreign investments in the economy of Omsk Region has grown to 114.4% in 2010 comparative to the year 2009 and amounted to 544 mln USD.
Omsk has partnership relations with 19 cities: Puchov (Republic of Slovakia), Petropavlovsk, Pavlodar (Republic of Kazakhstan), Simferopol (Ukraine), Jinju (Republic of Korea), Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic), Kaifeng (People’s Republic of China), Gdansk, Lublin and Lodz (Republic of Poland), Russian cities of Kaliningrad, Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, Bryansk, Penza, Ulan-Ude, Gorno-Altaisk, Belarusian cities of Minsk and Gomel. Thanks to these relations the exchange of scientific and cultural achievements and economic experience is made.

International development cooperation
The Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Honored Consulates of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Slovakia fulfill their activity on the territory of the city.
One of the most effective instruments for the development of intermunicipal relations and the establishment of direct economic contacts between Omsk business entities and the cities of the Russian Federation, CIS and non-CIS countries is the organization and participation in trade and economic missions.
In 2010-2011 trade and economic missions of Omsk business communities were organized in the Kazakhstan and Belarus.
Every year Omsk receives the representatives of Kazakhstan and Belarusian enterprises with business visits: in 2010 “Days of the city of Pavlodar” and “Days of business cooperation Russian and Belarusian enterprises “ Omsk — Belarus — 2010” were held.
Omsk takes an active part in the international exhibition events. The role of the Administration of the city of Omsk is to support Omsk entrepreneurs in their participation in major international exhibitions, to present its projects and to promote information about Omsk outside the region.
In 2010-2011 Omsk business communities participated in major investment exhibitions where more than 80 Omsk investments projects were presented: in Moscow — The 7th International Exhibition “MOLL” and REX- 2011, in St. Petersburg — Investment Forum “PROEstate 2010”, in Almaty ( Republic of Kazakhstan) — The First Russian Industrial Exhibition “Expo — Russia — Kazakhstan — 2010”.
