Omsk: Towards the 300th Anniversary
In 2016 Omsk will celebrate its 300th Anniversary.
Preparation plans for the city anniversary are fixed in the documents of medium- and longterm social and economic development. They are based on the Resolution of the Russian Federation Government No. 2040-p dated December 29, 2008 and the Plan of basic events relative to the celebration of the 300th Anniversary of Omsk.

One of the architectural symbols of Omsk
This Plan envisages the construction of the most important objects of the city transport infrastructure: underground railway, international airport «Omsk-Fyodorovka», Krasnaya Gorka water lifting hydraulic unit on Irtysh River and others.
It is envisaged to carry out the reconstruction of roads and trunk roads, construction of overbridges in Tsentralny and Kirovsky districts, Irtysh quay with bank protection, construction of engineering infrastructure facilities, public housing modernization and also construction and reconstruction of educational, healthcare and sport facilities.

Looking forward towards the anniversary
Besides, it is planned to build such facilities as the main building of Omsk State University named after F.M. Dostoyevsky, Omsk Cancer Centre at Zavertyaeva Street, Omsk Athletic Centre including departments of rhythmic gymnastics, cycling and martial arts, Fighting Centre of Alexandr Pushnitsa Author’s School.
